About Me

I’m a designer and geek. I work for Marx McClellan Thrun, a small agency in Milwaukee, as the Director of New Media. Fancy way of saying Interactive Art Director.
I’ve worked with recreational clients like Noah’s Ark Waterpark and Milwaukee County Zoo to Fortune 500 companies like Johnson Controls and BorgWarner. I’ve done work with local bars, restaurants and small businesses with non-agency sized budgets, providing them with websites, logos and ads that would otherwise be done in Word.
“Never ask a designer to design a bridge. Ask a designer to design a way to cross the water.”
— Zelda Harrison
I don’t design for the client. I design to come up with solutions for a client’s need. Designers aren’t order takers by nature. They are creative problem solvers. Let them do their job and success will follow.
I try to balance projects between form and function. Too much form and people will get lost in nonsense. The wrong amount of function and people will not be engaged. A successful piece is when the end user has a positive experience and the client can see the results.
About this Site
A constant work in progress, my goal is to showcase my work and write articles with some form of substance. I will do my best to avoid writing “10 hot (insert subject).”
